Terms of service
Who we are
ArcadeIndex is operated by [[OPERATOR_LEGAL_NAME]], [[OPERATOR_POSTAL_ADDRESS]] ([[OPERATOR_CONTACT_EMAIL]]). These terms take effect on [[EFFECTIVE_DATE]].
What ArcadeIndex is
ArcadeIndex is an index of web games hosted by their developers or publishers. Games play inside a sandboxed frame or open on the developer's own site; we do not host game files.
Descriptions, ratings and tags are written or assisted by automated tools and may be wrong. Report problems with the report button on any game page.
Submitting a game
By submitting a URL you confirm that you have the right to have that game listed, and that it contains no malware, phishing or content that breaks the law.
We may decline, delist or suspend any listing at our discretion, including for safety, quality or legal reasons.
Using the site and the API
Do not use ArcadeIndex to distribute malware, harvest credentials, or overload the service. API use is subject to the published rate limits and attribution rules.
Copyright
We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the DMCA. See /legal/dmca. Developers can remove their own games at any time through /legal/opt-out.
Ad-free purchases (draft)
[DRAFT pending founder and counsel review.] Ad-free removes the ads ArcadeIndex shows around games on our own pages while you are signed in to your account. It does not change the games: a game may show its own ads, which we do not control.
[DRAFT] Annual ad-free renews every year until you cancel it under Manage billing on your account page. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and ad-free lasts until the end of the year you paid for. Monthly ad-free, which is no longer sold, works the same way for existing subscribers, month by month. If a renewal payment fails, ad-free stops a few days later unless the payment goes through.
[DRAFT] Lifetime ad-free is a single payment for ad-free on your account for as long as ArcadeIndex offers ad-free. If the payment is fully refunded, ad-free ends.
[DRAFT] Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. You must be an adult, or have a parent's or guardian's permission, to buy.
[DRAFT refund wording, pending founder and counsel review] All sales are final: we do not give refunds, except where the law requires one. Ad-free starts as soon as your payment is confirmed. If you buy from the EU or the UK, you ask at checkout for ad-free to start immediately and acknowledge that you then lose your 14-day right to withdraw. A chargeback is handled as a payment dispute, and ad-free ends if the dispute is decided against you.
API plans and attribution (draft)
[DRAFT pending founder and counsel review.] Free API keys: you must show "via ArcadeIndex" with a link to our site wherever you use our data (see /attribution). The free tier is for non-commercial use, or for commercial use below a threshold [DRAFT: founder to set it, for example a number of monthly active users or requests per month]. Above that threshold you need a paid plan.
[DRAFT] Builder and Business plans allow commercial use, and attribution is optional on them. Business also includes the full catalog export and the right to store the exported catalog data for as long as your plan is active.
[DRAFT] Plans renew every month until you cancel under Manage billing on /portal/api-keys. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan's limits last to the end of the month you paid for, then the free limits apply. If a renewal payment fails, the plan's limits stay for 7 days while the payment is retried.
[DRAFT refund wording, pending founder and counsel review] All sales are final: we do not give refunds, except where the law requires one. A plan starts as soon as your payment is confirmed. If you buy from the EU or the UK, you ask at checkout for the plan to start immediately and acknowledge that you then lose your 14-day right to withdraw.
[DRAFT] Paying for a plan never changes which games the API returns or their order.
Disclaimers and law
The service is provided as is, without warranties. Games are third-party content and are the responsibility of their developers.
